Towing a dinghy at the lake

Take down the main, roll it up and secure it in the boat.

Secure the boom.

Wrap the jib around the forestay, secure it with the jib sheet.

Raise the centreboard 3/4
Single boat towed astern

Use the main sheet as painter and feed it through the tow ring.

Wrap it once around the mast and hold the end in your hand during the tow.

Tie the other end to the tow line (e.g. Alpine butterfly bend or Icicle hitch).

Sit far back and steer to the side of the motorboat wash.

It may be possible to use the tow line from the tow-boat directly to feed it through the tow ring, wrap it around the mast and hold it.
Towing multiple boats simultaneously
Several boats can be towed astern simultaneously by applying a fishbone pattern method:
Boats are alternately attached onto a long tow rope with individual painters.
